Arts Council England Application
We wrote and submitted this application for our National Tour of 13 venues (it actually grew to more venues after our rejection).
We began writing the application on 3rd October 2022 and submitted it on December 14th. We received our rejection 6 weeks later, on January 26th.
The feedback was as follows:

Thank you for applying to National Lottery Project Grants.
I am sorry to tell you that your application for Coming Out Of My Cage UK Tour & Engagement Project was not awarded funding this time..
We decided not to support your application this time because:
- We decided to fund a mix of different applications that we viewed as making the strongest contribution to achieving our strategy
We know this will be disappointing news, and we recognise the time and effort you have taken to make your application.
Our decision doesn't mean that we think your project wasn't worthy of funding, or that your idea wasn't a valuable one.
We receive a lot more applications than we can support and we have a limited budget. We think really carefully about the mix of projects we fund, and how (collectively and separately) they make a contribution to achieving our strategy, Let's Create. This often means we have to make difficult choices about what we support.
If you'd like to apply to us again, think about how you might be able to address what we've fed back here.
